Training Skills Workshops
Geared toward professional animal trainers and animal owners dedicated to learning more about behavior and advanced training skills, these workshops offer hands-on experience and practice with different animal species. Some workshops focus on a single skill, while others explore various skills to improve mechanical techniques and knowledge.
Animals available on-site: dogs, cats, horses, alpacas, chinchilla, newts, fish, (chickens arriving Spring '08).
TAGteach workshops for trainers of all industries will be introduced at this facility.
Resource Center
Library: RLC offers a library of books, magazines and videos for educational development in a wide variety of animal behavior and training topics. A computer is available for practicing timing games and criteria-shifting skills.
Industry products: Training toys, tools, etc. are available on site to professional trainers for viewing and trying with animals and clients.
Retail sales: some training tools, toys, and supplements are available for purchase directly through RLC.
Games Night: a regular gathering for people to improve training & coaching skills without using animals through various learning games.
Movie Night: a regular gathering in the a/v room for groups to enjoy and discuss various video presentations covering areas of interest ranging from specific animal training subjects to simply entertaining animal movies. Depending on interest, a series may be offered targeting a particular species or training philosophy. Popcorn is included!
